Miniature Spirit of Apacharama Pottery Figure
Charming miniature Shipibo ceramic pottery figure, handmade in Ucayali, Peru by Lily Sandoval. Lily created this figure to represent the spirit of the apacharama tree; it has a friendly, happy go lucky smile on it’s face. Two leaf “ears” emerge from the top. This one is missing just a bit of glaze from it’s nose, as shown.
Lily’s process is entirely traditional: clay dug from the earth, cleaned by hand, blended with apacharana, mineral colors derived entirely from ground rocks, fire outdoors in the open and glaze from tree resin.
Height: 1 3/4”, 4.5 cm
