Excellent miniature Shipibo ceramic pottery anteater figure, handmade in Ucayali, Peru by Lily Sandoval. Her process is entirely traditional: clay dug from the earth, cleaned by hand, blended with apacharana, mineral colors derived entirely from ground rocks, fire outdoors in the open and glaze from tree resin. This design style is an extremely old reductive technique; the pattern has been carved out of the body of the figure.
